31-year-old man killed in Jefferson County shooting

One man is dead after a shooting on Town and Country Circle in Jefferson County Monday night.

21-year-old Eslam Mohamed Zaki is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Zaki had been in an argument with 31-year-old Deandre Montray Hollice. The argument turned into a fight, and during the fight, Zaki fired one shot, hitting Hollice.

Zaki called 911 and waited at the scene until deputies arrived.

Hollice was taken by ambulance to UAB Hospital, where he later died.
