Birmingham-area McDonald's locations agreed to feed first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fifteen McDonald's locations in and around Birmingham are offering free extra value meals to uniformed Fire Fighters, EMS/Ambulance Services, and Police Officers.

"We acknowledge the long hours that many of our community services are working to provide safety and security for our community. This is our way of saying “Thank You” to these individuals." said the restaurants management company in a news release.

“Our first responders in Birmingham continue to serve our community for long hours to keep each of us safe and healthy,” said Nicholas Valluzzo, Birmingham Owner/Operator. “During this time when you may not know what your next shift will hold, know that you are invited to our restaurants, for a free hot meal. This is our way of saying Thank You.”

First Responders are invited to visit any participating McDonald’s restaurants in uniform via the Drive-Thru to receive their favorite Extra Value Meal (one per customer) available on our menu for free. Meals include the classic Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese and Filet-O-Fish- served with fries and a beverage.

For emergency vehicles too big to travel through the Drive-Thru, McDonald’s recommends these steps:

  • Use McDonald’s Mobile Order & Pay app, when you arrive at the restaurant
  • Select Curbside Service and walk to the designated curbside sign on the sidewalk outside the designated door
  • Complete your order by entering the appropriate curbside number and your order will be brought to you
