ROSCOMMON COUNTY, Mich. (WWMT) — A toddler missing in the woods of Michigan is safe thanks to a trusty K-9 officer.
Deputies said they were dispatched to a home when the child's mother was unable to locate him while searching the area.
Neighbors also joined in on the search of the remote area, which is mostly wooded and swampy.
Multiple K-9 officers responded to the scene, along with a Michigan State Police drone and the aviation unit.
The child was found by Trooper Adam Whited and his K-9 partner Loki after tracking the child, deputies said.
Officials said he was barefoot approximately a 1/2 mile from the home in a wooded area.
Deputies added the 3-year-old, alive and well, rode piggyback on the trooper's shoulders out of the woods.
The tiny explorer was checked out by EMS before being reunited with his mother.
