Kiera Hood

Anchor/Reporter

Kiera is excited to be back in Alabama where her love for journalism began.

Kiera grew up in Fairfield, AL where she was a part of the “Tiger Pride” newscast at Fairfield High Preparatory School.

After graduating high school, she went to the University of Montevallo and became part of the “Falcon Weekly” newscast as an executive producer and anchor.

Before returning home, she worked in Albany, Georgia as an anchor and reporter for nearly two years. There, she covered many stories including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Georgia’s gubernatorial race and gang violence and crime across South Georgia.

Kiera also worked at WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, AL for 3 years as a producer before moving to Tallahassee, FL. While in Florida, she produced the 9 p.m. newscast for a startup network called Black News Channel.

Kiera is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. When Kiera is not working, she is spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, and eating a good seafood boil.
