Kyra Purvis

Kyra Purvis joined the ABC 33/40 News team in September 2022 as a Multimedia Journalist.

Before coming to Birmingham, Kyra worked at a Sinclair sister station in Albany, Ga. There, she had the opportunity to tell impactful stories to a community healing from the harsh effects of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Kyra is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University. There she received her bachelor's degree in Mass Communications.

Kyra prides herself in building a strong relationship with the community she is working in. Being a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, Kyra prioritizes community service and involvement. She is excited to begin that journey here in Birmingham.

When Kyra is not working, she enjoys watching Netflix, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
