Megan Scarano

Reporter/Anchor

Megan Scarano traded country roads for sweet home Alabama when she joined the ABC 33/40 News team as the Weekend Anchor and Reporter in October of 2022.

Before moving to Birmingham, Megan spent over two years at our sister station in New Bern, North Carolina as an MMJ and weekend anchor.

While there, she covered Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Kinston, NC during the 2020 campaign cycle, the Down East Plane Crash that killed 8 including 4 teenagers, and the aftermath from the fatal EF-3 tornado in Bertie County spawned from Hurricane Isaias.

Megan is originally from West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University (Let’s Go Mountaineers!) with a B.S. in Journalism and B.A. in Dance. A Fun fact about Megan is she attended a performing arts high school for dance and had the opportunity to dance the halftime show in the Orange Bowl.

In her free time Megan enjoys running, taking ballet classes, and napping with her cat Olive. Don’t be afraid to say hi and follow Megan on Twitter and Facebook. If you have a story idea, you can reach out to her at mscarano@sbgtv.com
